'''R&D (Research and Development) Materials''' are items used to develop equipment from [[Blueprints]]. Once a Blueprint has been brought to [[Choku-Funsha]] in the [[Waiting Room]], the R&D menu will display the materials required to develop a piece of equipment. Handing over the Materials and [[SPLithium]] needed will make the equipment purchasable with [[Kill Coins]], after a waiting period determined by the equipment's tier. Only Materials in your currently active Fighter's Death Bag and the Storage Chest are accessible by Choku-Funsha. The Wandering Shop, [[Gyakufunsha|Gyaku-Funsha]], sells both common and rare crafting materials. The selection offered varies depending on which floor the shop appears. == Material Types and Locations == There are six types of common materials that can be found in a variety of forms throughout the tower: Aluminum, Copper, Iron, Oil, Wood, and Fiber. In All-material type floors, any type of common material can be found, but only in one "quality tier" according to floor number: {| class="wikitable" !Tier !Floors !Aluminum !Copper !Iron !Oil !Wood !Fiber* |- |1 |1-10 |[[File:Aluminum1.png|link=Aluminum Scraps|16px]] [[Aluminum Scraps]] |[[File:Copper1.png|link=Clump of Copper Scraps|16px]] [[Clump of Copper Scraps]] |[[File:Iron1.png|link=Iron Scraps|16px]] [[Iron Scraps]] |[[File:Oil1.png|link=Waste Oil|16px]] [[Waste Oil]] |[[File:Wood1.png|link=Veneer Plank|16px]] [[Veneer Plank]] |[[File:Fiber1.png|link=Cotton|16px]] [[Cotton]] |- |2 |11-20 |[[File:Aluminum2.png|link=Aluminum Can|16px]] [[Aluminum Can]] |[[File:Copper2.png|link=Piece of Broken Copperware|16px]] [[Piece of Broken Copperware]] |[[File:Iron2.png|link=Wire Mountain|16px]] [[Wire Mountain]] |[[File:Oil2.png|link=Vegetable Oil|16px]] [[Vegetable Oil]] |[[File:Wood2.png|link=MDF|16px]] [[MDF]] |[[File:Fiber2.png|link=Hemp|16px]] [[Hemp]] |- |3 |21-30 |[[File:Aluminum3.png|link=Aluminum Engine Part|16px]] [[Aluminum Engine Part]] |[[File:Copper3.png|link=Copper Wire Mountain|16px]] [[Copper Wire Mountain]] |[[File:Iron3.png|link=Mass of Iron Bolts|16px]] [[Mass of Iron Bolts]] |[[File:Oil3.png|link=Crude Oil|16px]] [[Crude Oil]] |[[File:Wood3.png|link=Rosewood|16px]] [[Rosewood]] |[[File:Fiber3.png|link=Leather|16px]] [[Leather]] |- |4 |31-40 |[[File:Aluminum4.png|link=Pure Aluminum|16px]] [[Pure Aluminum]] |[[File:Copper4.png|link=Pure Copper|16px]] [[Pure Copper]] |[[File:Iron4.png|link=Steel|16px]] [[Steel]] |[[File:Oil4.png|link=Mineral Oil|16px]] [[Mineral Oil]] |[[File:Wood4.png|link=Walnut|16px]] [[Walnut]] |[[File:Fiber4.png|link=Wool|16px]] [[Wool]] |- |5 |41+ |[[File:Aluminum5.png|link=Aluminum Alloy 7075|16px]] [[Aluminum Alloy 7075]] |[[File:Copper5.png|link=Oxygen-free Copper|16px]] [[Oxygen-free Copper]] |[[File:Iron5.png|link=Ultra-pure Iron|16px]] [[Ultra-pure Iron]] |[[File:Oil5.png|link=Chemo-synthesized Oil|16px]] [[Chemo-synthesized Oil]] |[[File:Wood5.png|link=Mahogany|16px]] [[Mahogany]] |[[File:Fiber5.png|link=Silk|16px]] [[Silk]] |- |6 |41+ |[[File:Aluminum6.png|link=Aluminum Alloy 9048|16px]] [[Aluminum Alloy 9048]] |[[File:Copper6.png|link=Beryllium Copper|16px]] [[Beryllium Copper]] |[[File:Iron6.png|link=Special Steel|16px]] [[Special Steel]] |[[File:Oil6.png|link=Biofuel|16px]] [[Biofuel]] |[[File:Wood6.png|link=Snake Wood|16px]] [[Snake Wood]] |[[File:Fiber6.png|link=Carbon Fiber|16px]] [[Carbon Fiber]] |- |7 |51+ |[[File:Aluminum7.png|link=Aluminum Alloy 9050|16px]] [[Aluminum Alloy 9050]] |[[File:Copper7.png|link=Corinthian Bronze|16px]] [[Corinthian Bronze]] |[[File:Iron7.png|link=Chrome-Moly|16px]] [[Chrome-Moly]] |[[File:Oil7.png|link=Tiger Grease|16px]] [[Tiger Grease]] |[[File:Wood7.png|link=Black Coal|16px]] [[Black Coal]] |[[File:Fiber7.png|link=Aramid Fiber|16px]] [[Aramid Fiber]] |- |8 |81+ |[[File:Aluminum8.png|link=Aluminum Alloy 9051|16px]] [[Aluminum Alloy 9051]] |[[File:Copper8.png|link=Orichalcum|16px]] [[Orichalcum]] |[[File:Iron8.png|link=Tamahagane|16px]] [[Tamahagane]] |[[File:Oil8.png|link=Payback|16px]] [[Fatback]] |[[File:Wood8.png|link=Lignum Vitae|16px]] [[Lignum Vitae]] |[[File:Fiber8.png|link=Polyarylate Fiber|16px]] [[Polyarylate Fiber]] |- | colspan="8" |<nowiki>*</nowiki>Any type of fiber (up to 5 Stars) can be found on any Fiber-only floor. These include [[Cotton]], [[Hemp]], [[Wool]], [[Leather]], and [[Silk]]. |} === Material Specific Floors === There are also material-specific areas. In these areas, the materials that appear have a chance to be up to two tiers lower or one tier higher than the current floor's tier. An example of this is Takayama, an Aluminum-only area. Because it's on the 34th floor, normally only [[Pure Aluminum]] (Tier 4) would appear, but because this district is material specific, you can also find [[Aluminum Can]] (Tier 2), [[Aluminum Engine Part]] (Tier 3), and [[Aluminum Alloy 7075]] (Tier 5). == Tuber and Faction Metals == === Tuber Metals === Tuber Metals are one of the two types of Rare Metals. They are rarely dropped by the corresponding Tubers, and can also be obtained through certain [[Quests]]. {| class="wikitable" !Tuber Metals |- |[[File:Tuber1.png|16px]] [[Scratch Metal]] |- |[[File:Tuber2.png|16px]] [[Bullet Metal]] |- |[[File:Tuber3.png|16px]] [[Hovering Metal]] |- |[[File:Tuber4.png|16px]] [[Bone Metal]] |- |[[File:Tuber5.png|16px]] [[Reversal Metal]] |}<br /> ===Faction Metals=== Faction Metals are the other Rare Metal type, primarily obtained as drops from [[Mid-Bosses]] and [[Dons]], and from the gold chests in [[Trap Rooms]]. They can also be obtained through certain [[Quests]], purchased at [[Gyakufunsha]], or rarely found in [[Uncle Prime]] boxes or login rewards. Each [[Mid-Boss]], [[Dons|Don]], and [[Four Forcemen|Forcemen]] corresponds to a faction, and each set of 10 floors corresponds to a color: {| width="100%" | style="width:25%;" | {| class="wikitable" |+Tower of Barbs' Factions !Faction !Mid-boss !Don !Forcemen |- |[[D.O.D.
